Planning and Research

TASK 1:

Gathering a range of moods through sound bites-

For this task i had to create a variety of sound bites using ‘GarageBand’ , these were created to enhance different feelings and emotions within the audience if they were to listen. Sounds are a key part to the success of a radio broadcast, as they are created to create a link between the listener and radio show, therefore remembering the broadcast so that they will listen again.

TASK 2:

Researching possible outside broadcasts

Within the majority of Radio news broadcasts there are ‘outside broadcasts’ in which a reporter is at the scene of a headline. The effect of these broadcasts enable a greater sense of community for listeners.

TASK 3:

Deconstructing Radio jingles

In this task i had to take two different jingles from two different radio shows. This gave me a greater knowledge into how these were created and why they are created, and enabled me to create a successful jingle for my own project.

TASK 4:

Deconstructing 2 news programmes

This was a key factor in my planning and research stages, as it gave me a insight into how radio broadcasts were sculpted. I researched aspects of the radio shows such as; content, length of the show, range of headlines and what kind of outside broadcasts they use. All of this enabled me to take inspiration from and apply these features to my project.

TASK 6:

Researching Radio Websites

This task enabled me to see how radio websites were structured and how they address the audience. Through the radio websites i could research the radio listings, which included times and who and what are going to be appearing on the show.
